The main Ottawa town hall covered the league transition, package model, regional options, standings, scheduling and next steps for captains.

Meeting summary

Tyler and the team walked through the move from the former OSAHL to a new league run independently by Eizen, and explained the pricing plainly: the economics of running the league changed first, and the packages exist to give teams choice inside that new reality. Pre-registration was extended to August 31 so captains have time to watch, talk to their teams and decide. The session covered the package model (Flex, Regional Priority and Regional Guarantee), how East and West fit inside one Ottawa league, standings rules built for parity and the captain tools meant to cut admin work. Tyler noted the league is launching under a working name while the permanent brand is finalized, and committed to follow-up emails, more town halls and open feedback channels for captains.

What the conversation means now

Here is where things stand after the town hall. Ottawa remains one league with an East and a West side, and your package choice decides how much of your season stays close to home. For teams that registered earlier, we are holding the team’s place while the captain completes secure lock-in. The lock-in page shows the confirmed package, payment terms and profile questions before you decide. Below is the honest split: what is decided, what captains are actively shaping and what still depends on the final ice allocation.

  • For teams that registered earlier, we are holding the team’s place while the captain completes lock-in. No payment is collected until the registration is finalized with the secure link and $1,000 deposit.
  • Your secure edit link lets you review or change your submission any time, and your original timestamp stays protected.
  • Scheduling preferences are accommodated to the best of our ability. For anything that requires a guarantee, please contact us directly. Specific guarantee requests stay separate and are reviewed with you before they are approved.
  • Open and 35+ teams have the same three packages. Flex is $6,995; Regional Priority is $7,295 standard or $7,095 early-bird; Regional Guarantee is $7,595 standard or $7,395 early-bird. All prices are pre-HST.
  • The $200 early-bird applies to Regional Priority and Regional Guarantee when locked by August 31, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern. It does not apply to Flex, and there is no history-verification gate.
  • The season will start during the week of September 20, 2026. Exact Open dates follow the final ice allocation.
  • Open teams receive 22 regular-season games and 2–8 playoff games in double-elimination conference playoffs, plus one East-versus-West City Championship game.
  • A $1,000 deposit is due at lock-in, followed by half of the remaining balance on September 15 and the final half on November 15. E-transfer is fee-free. We cover the card processing cost on the deposit and September instalment, with a disclosed surcharge beginning October 15.
  • The current game-format direction is stop-time in the existing 50-minute slot, tentatively 10-10-12 pending final operational confirmation.
  • Pre-registration is open until August 31, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern.

  • East and West are how you tell us where you want to play inside one Ottawa league.
  • Captain input is shaping rules, competition format and operating details. The Women’s package came directly out of that process.
  • LeagueNav tools are being built so captains spend less time on admin, with registration, waivers, schedules and stats in one place.
